Use of AI

The content of this blog -- all of the posts and pages -- is written and created by me; none of the content is AI-generated. On occasion I will use tools, some of which will make use of "AI", to check for typos, spelling errors, and so on, but everything you'll find here is hand-written.

Almost every single project you'll find on GitHub is hand-coded by me, no AI involved whatsoever. The stark exception to this is BlogMore, the static site generator that I use to generate this blog from Markdown sources. BlogMore is 100% AI-written: code, documentation, the lot. It was, and remains, a deliberate experiment in using AI to develop a whole project.

As time goes on, I may use AI in the creation of other applications. If that happens, the repository and documentation will clearly state this fact.

Position on use of AI

I am not 100% opposed to using AI tooling when it comes to developing code. I am concerned about how those tools are created; I am concerned about how they are controlled; and I am concerned about the skills and attention to detail of some of those who employ them.

I am, as with so many aspects of the industry I've worked in since 1989, concerned about how we use new technologies in general.
